| In this particular crawl space, every post showed signs of deterioration. Left undetected the extent of the damage could be drastic. Years of moisture and contact with dirt have left their mark on every post in this crawl space. Had this been detected earlier, the damage would have been minimal, and repairs would have been limited to eliminating direct contact with concrete and soil (some posts needed to be correctly placed on concrete blocks ). Having waited and left the situation unchecked, all the rot had to be cut out and replaced with pressure treaded wood, and some posts had to be replaced entirely.
